I'm still running Drupal 5 here due to the fact that my attention is elsewhere, and so I've not had any real experience with D6 development. Besides, I've never seen Drupal push out combo-terms; my own links page is free of them despite more than a few links existing in two or more categories.

My advice would be to just experiment and see where it gets you.

Re: Quick and Dirty Links Page for Drupal

Hi there, I think this approach would be perfect for a directory I'm developing. I'm working in Drupal 6 and am wondering what would need to be changed in the code above for Drupal 6 implementation?

I'm hoping it will solve a problem with my current approach (using fields & filters etc for a single page View). My links each have multiple taxonomy terms within the vocabulary, which is causing all sorts of combinations to display, eg.

Heading 1: Art
links with taxonomy term Art only
Heading 2: Fashion
links with taxonomy term Fashion only
Heading 3: Art, Fashion
links with both Art & Fashion taxonomy terms

Really, I want these links to appear under both of the first two headings instead, with no additional combo-taxonomy groupings!

(I did try setting my page up as above, in case there were no significant code changes required, but I get a Parse error: syntax error.)

Any help is much appreciated. Thank you for posting this article - it certainly points me in the right direction!

Re: MG Siegler, you owe the hungry an apology

Not me personally, but anyone who's needed the support that Microsoft is currently giving to those who can't afford enough food to stay healthy. But your article is still an insult, especially given the gumball comparison. (Perhaps you should state the bulk cost per gumball and not retail, eh?) Those of us who've had to rely on charitable handouts just to keep from starving have enough to deal with, without needing to be used as ammunition for picking on the people actually giving money to the orgs that support the hungry.

I'm fortunate enough to not be in that position these days, but I still feel the plight of those less fortunate. And having been in their shoes, I can't help but feel angry at this.

I don't like that Microsoft's only giving $1M, and I've actually nagged at one of the people I know at Microsoft about the low amount. But at least they're actually giving something. And they're not confusing the matter with crooked comparisons between what Feeding America gets and what folks buy at corner stores and supermarkets.

To steal some words from Brad Groux's reply to one of yours on the article (yes, somewhat out of context but very true all the same): "10+ pounds of food could easily provide 8 meals". Think about that. If $1 gets that 10 pounds, then each donation does end up making 8 meals, and with admin costs to spare.

By the way, speaking of out of context, I see what you did there quoting me.

Re: MG Siegler, you owe the hungry an apology

I am really confused? In your own words, "But to see the misinformation being passed off by MG over at TechCrunch, like the laughable claim that the donation per download is supposed to cover 8 meals"

Now, go to the MSFT site: "For every download of Windows Internet Explorer 8 from this site, we will donate 8 meals"

That's exactly what it says. And that's exactly my point.

Re: BESM 3rd Edition has finally arrived!

Complaining here won't help any.
